Fuel leaks from brand new generator - 12/28/2011

Brand new generator, was properly set up and maintained, less than 6 months old and it leaks gushes fuel out of the side. Totally unusable. Being a motorcycle mechanic, I can probably fix it assuming I dont get screwed by not being able to find necessary gaskets and whatnot!. Could be dirty carb, could be leaky gasket around the carb or the fuel switch. Havent looked yet.
This is incredibly disheartening. At the price we paid for this item, it should not be breaking when it is brand new.
Bought from Costco, too d*mn heavy to take back. Neither me nor my housemate are able to hoist this thing into our car to return it, or to take it to a repair/service place.
Very unhappy.

You will need to contact Costco to see if they can help you. When we sell these units we supply local area contractors to fix the item if it is faulty, maybe they do the same? We wish you luck and hope you get your generator fixed.

The unit looks nice and runs well! Keep in mind it is made in China! I was told 5-7 buisness days but it took 12 buisness days. They told me they screwed up the order. If I had not inquired about my order it may have taken even longer for delivery!

Thank you for your review of the product. We are curious as to who stated "they" screwed up the order? This item is shipped directly from the manufacturer and can take up to 2 weeks for delivery mainly because it is shipped LTL due the nature and size of the product.

Awesome! Easily assembled out of the box and cranked up on the fist touch of the button. I can power just about everything in my house. I run two refrigerators and a freezer, lights in every room and a microwave oven. Ran it for 5 days contentiously during our last tornado back in 4/27/11. My only wish is that it came with a connector cord to attach to the switch I installed to transfer power.
